The objective of the Blackjack
card game is to accumulate a total number of points
as close to 21 as possible. To win you need to
beat the dealer without busting. You bust when
your total number of points exceed 21. The winner
is whoever has closest to a total of 21.
Points are computed as follows:
Aces are worth 1 or 11
points, depending on which is preferred.
Jacks, Queens and Kings
are all worth 10 points.
Cards 2 - 9 are worth their
number.
This is how the game is played:
The first step of Blackjack
is to place an initial bet.
After you have placed your
bet, both you and the dealer receives 2 cards,
of which only 1 of the dealer's cards is face-up.
You play first, and have
a choice to either "hit" or "stand". To "hit"
implies asking for another card to be added
to you points.
You stop playing the hand
when you either "bust" (and lose the hand) or
"stand", in which case the dealer plays his
hand.
Whoever then has the most
points closest to 21 wins the hand.
The hand is a tie if both
you and the dealer didn't bust and have the
same amount of points. In this case you don't
lose or win anything.
Options:
A natural blackjack
If you have 21 with your first
two cards you have a natural blackjack. You don't
need to play any further. The dealer, however
can still have 21 and has to play you for the
tie. If you win, you get paid 3 to 2.
Double
After you have received your
first two cards, you have the option to double
your bet. If you do so, you only receive one more
card, but you either win or lose double your original
bet.
Insurance
If the dealer's face-up card
is an Ace, you may place an Insurance bet, which
is half of your original bet. If the dealer does
not have a natural Blackjack, you lose your Insurance
bet. If the dealer has a natural Blackjack, you
would lose your original bet, but win double the
amount of your Insurance bet (Insurance pays 2
to 1). Basically, you come out even.
You have to register in order
to play Blackjack and be on the leader boards.
You can even enter your phone number if you want
other players to contact you. You will receive
a default amount of 1000 ZimDolla to play with.
Re-register
If you decide to change you
name, you can re-register. Your money will be
reset to an overall 1000 ZimDolla and 0 ZimDolla
for the day. It is advised to re-register if you
have lost a large amount of ZimDolla.
Once you've started playing,
follow these steps:
Bet - Put a certain amount
of ZimDolla on the table.
Deal - You are given 2
initial face-up cards.
(Insurance) - If the dealer
has a face-up Ace, accept or reject the Insurance
bet.
Choose hit/stand/(double)
- Repeat this until you bust or choose to stand.
Choose bet/deal/leave table
- now the hand is finished, and you must choose
whether to
Every evening at 10pm the winner
of the day is announced. This is the person who
has accumulated the most ZimDolla since the previous
winner was announced. His/her name is displayed
at "Today's Leaders".
The overall leaders are those
who have accumulated the most ZimDolla since their
registration.
